D.E.T Verifying

(Duct & Envelope Tightness Verification)

Georgia’s 2015 Energy Code and 2024 Amendments (GA Supplements and Amendments) require a blower door test and duct leakage test on new builds and some retrofits.


TruResults Home Services recommends that all new construction be tested before drywall and insulation are completed. Air sealing and adjustments are far easier to accomplish before the exterior and interior are finished — and mistakes made at this stage can be very expensive and labor-intensive to correct later.


D.E.T Verifying is a pass-or-fail test. If a home fails, we work with homeowners, builders, and contractors to identify solutions and achieve a passing score.


By performing D.E.T Verifying, builders, investors, and homeowners can identify problem areas that impact energy efficiency, comfort, indoor air quality, and overall building performance. These tests help reduce energy loss, improve comfort, and support long-term durability by limiting unwanted air infiltration.


We are able to diagnose and provide solutions if a building does not pass, TruResults Home Services works with builders, contractors, and homeowners to identify solutions that help achieve code compliance and improve overall system performance.

D.E.T. Verifying (Duct and Envelope Tightness)

TruResults Home Services recommend conducting blower door and duct leakage tests before drywall and insulation are completed. Testing at this stage allows corrections and air sealing to be made properly, ensuring the home meets code requirements before it’s too late.


D.E.T. Verifying is a pass-or-fail test designed to meet Georgia Energy Code standards. If a test fails, we work with homeowners, builders, and contractors to identify solutions and achieve a passing score. Failing a test can delay the Certificate of Occupancy and create compliance issues.


Blower door testing is a key component in achieving airtightness, which is essential for meeting and exceeding energy efficiency standards.

Blower Door Testing

A blower door test measures building envelope airtightness and quantifies air leakage. The results help identify leakage pathways and evaluate factors affecting energy performance, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, building durability, construction quality, and code compliance.
